Apart from Christ, we are dead in our sins, dominated by Satan and our sinfulness, and doomed to face God’s wrath. Thus, our desperate need for God’s grace to us in Christ!

We were: dead in our sins (v. 1), dominated bt Satan and our sinfulness (vv. 2-3a), doomed to face God’s wrath (v.3b), BUT GOD! (v.4a)
